Post-Burn Shiftpod cleaning checklist

Deal with the tent before dust and moisture become a storage problem. This is the order I recommend for a basic post-playa reset.

  1. Empty it.Remove personal belongings, rugs, bedding, cords, filters, and loose accessories.
  2. Set it up.Give yourself enough room to reach the interior, exterior, roof, floor, windows, and doors.
  3. Inspect and photograph it.Document stains, mold-like growth, torn seams, zipper trouble, coating damage, and frame issues.
  4. Vacuum loose playa dust.Work carefully around seams, corners, doors, windows, and other high-dust areas.
  5. Wash and detail it.Use methods and products compatible with your specific tent.
  6. Dry every layer and fold.Ventilate the tent and check lower edges, overlaps, seams, and flooring before packing.
  7. Fold and repack.Use a clean, dry surface and avoid trapping damp accessories inside the bag.
  8. Store it somewhere dry.Keep it away from damp concrete, leaks, pests, and major temperature swings.

Stop and assess first if you find existing mold, severe staining, unusual contamination, delamination, or structural damage. Cleaning may not fully remove permanent stains or reverse existing damage.
